The AUC School of Business’ Access to Knowledge for Development (A2K4D), a regional center for research and policy analysis on access to knowledge, intellectual property and human development, conducted a study last year on Uber in Egypt. The purpose of the study was to examine the demographics of the company’s drive-partners as well as how and why they use Uber. It also set out to showcase how the sharing economy operates within the context of Egypt’s economic challenges and labor market conditions.
