Egypt’s Ministry of Finance recently published its “Citizen’s Budget 2018/2019” report, in which it lays out how exactly the budget allocated for the current fiscal year will be spent. The total budget amounts to LE148.5 billion.
In the budget, government expenditures stood at LE1.424 trillion, while revenues are at LE989.2 billion, causing a deficit of LE438.6 billion – equivalent to 8.3 percent of the GDP.
According to the report, 85 percent of difficult economic reforms have been completed, with the next phase focusing on new incentives, growth and employment.
